Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, formerly known as Rohtak University, was created in 1976 by State Legislative Act No. 25 of 1975. The university received recognition from the University Grants Commission in 1983. The university is located 75 km away from the capital of India and is well connected by rail and road. The university has over 560 colleges/institutions of education, engineering, management, and computer science spread across Haryana state.

These colleges offer D.Ed., B.Ed., and M.Ed. courses. They are recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). These colleges have established Extended Admission & Counseling Centers across Delhi-NCR. Students can avail facilities like counseling and guidance about admission, subject selection, and file work from these extended admissions-cum-guidance centers.
MDU B.Ed Admission Eligibility Criteria for 2023-24 Session The minimum qualification required for admission to the B.Ed. the course is a Bachelor of Arts (B.A), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), or Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) from any recognized board/university with at least 50% marks aggregate. There is a 5% relaxation in marks as per state government rules.
MDU/CRSU B.Ed admission process is conducted online every year in the month of July-August. The admission for the 2023-24 session will also be held in the same manner. Candidates who want to join the course have to fill-up and submit the online application form. There is NO ENTRANCE TEST, and admission to this course is on a merit basis.
After the display of the merit list, candidates will be called for counseling online, and depending upon their performance and marks obtained in the qualifying examinations, a “Merit List” will be prepared. Candidates will be allotted their desired colleges of studying B.Ed. course according to the merit list only.
